Kyle, our server, was great. Steak tips were perfect. Kids enjoyed reasonably priced menu. Kids also loved oreo cookie ice cream dessert. We almost left when we arrive. Parking lot was full and we assumed restaurant would have a wait. Don't be fooled. There is free valet parking. Valet was good enough to check seating for us and then park our car for us. Hope they are successful. They have been big supporters of the Hopkinton schools so I had to try them out and we were pleased!
Pros: Great kids menu, ample portions, tasty steak tips
Cons: parking can be misleading -- looks full and it isn't!
Try it - You'll love it.

Let me first say that there basically aren't any good restaurants in this area, period. The Marathon is a godsend for me because I am extremely picky, I'd rather just not go anywhere than "settle" for the multitude of lousy places and chains. Quite frequently when an important business lunch would arise, I would find myself traveling all the way out to Legal Seafood in Framingham to have anything close to a satisfactory experience. Have visited 3X now, food has been basically perfect across the board. Service is outstanding with happy, outgoing, attentive and very cute waitstaff. I pray they succeed because the economy is just so awful right now. If this place were open 12 years ago during EMC's heyday it would have been booked solid every day of the week and require reservations.
Pros: Awesome Food, Wonderful Service
Cons: Um, none 4 me and I'm rarely satisfied and quite impossible.

I've watched this location go through at least three owners and Marathon is by far the best so far. I've been here twice now and can confirm that the good service and food is no fluke.
My wife and I were seated promptly by the smiling staff near one of the two cozy fireplaces. The wine selection being superb, I had a glass of Rioja and she of Chardonnay. First clue of quality is that they used the right style of wine glassfor each type of wine.
Our waitress, Sam, was solicitous and always available, but never obtrusive. We shared the Brick salad (named for the street on which the owner lives, we're told) with goat cheese and cranberries. The lettuce was mostly quite fresh, although could probably have been culled just a tad bit more.
Many of the entrees were enticing and we had a hard time deciding. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the menu some more.
My wife had the lasagna and I had the turkey tips. Both were delicious and I was particularly impressed by the flavor and presentation of the grilled turkey tips. The tips came with sides of wilted spinach and a seasoned rice, both of which were perfectly done. One larger piece of the tips was *slightly* undercooked, but not so much so that I didn't/wouldn't eat it. Personal preference is that I'd rather have it that way than cooked into oblivion as is so common.
Prices are reasonable. Our total for two glasses of wine, one appetizer and two entrees was just over $50. We'd previously had two glasses of wine, two appetizers, two entrees, two desserts and two coffees, which ran the bill up closer to $100. We'll be back to continue working our way through the wine list and the diverse menu!
Pros: Wine list, creative dishes, friendly staff
Cons: Some *minor* food prep issues.
