A dancing mind in Rui Zhang's space

I have cultivated a taste for painting since I was very young. I could still remember how my father used to pick me up from my painting classes at the Children’s Extracurricular Center after a long day of work. We walked side by side, with our shadows out-stretched by the dim street light. I asked him many questions on the way home, and he always answered them patiently. Our chats traveled from ancient times to present days and from heaven to earth. These discussions lasted till I graduated from junior high. Several years have passed since that time. I graduated; I worked; I studied abroad; and I settled in Boston. We could no longer converse in the same capacity as we did long ago. I come to realize that we have too many differences in terms of time, space, experiences, and concepts. However, I also know that our well-cherished sense of appreciation and care has never changed. I would like to silently dedicate these paintings to my parents; sharing with them the joy, happiness, and appreciations of life, together in the faraway land of China.
